Happy Birthday

Filed under: General - Mark @ 2:59 pm

Happy Birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Bubby… Happy birthday to YOU!

And on a more somber note, Toney (owner) just called me to discuss a credit card charge with a customer, cos the customer was going to go through with Finance, but decided not to and payed on credit card, which is an extra 2% (as thats what the banks charge us), and he was about to kick up a hullabloo. I don’t mind doing it on my day off, thats cool, what annoys me is that customers are so picky – they buy a discounted system, and then want further discounts, so…. anyways.

It’s a possum!

Well, Bubby’s going for her P plates as I write this, and personally I feel like such a dero, lol, but you gotta remember that I came from the victorian system, where I can’t get my license till I’m 18 anyhow… so don’t hang it on me again lol

Work’s been busy and stressful but very rewarding (for once).

Grandparents are here at the moment, and I did get Bec something, I got her a hamper from so I hope she likes it. It’s got chocolates and strawberries and she’d better not read this before she gets it or I’ll be annoyed, cos it nearly killed her cos I wouldn’t tell her what she’s getting… so ner. lol.

Howdy ho all… I saw The Matrix Reloaded last night… Damn it was a good movie. It was jsut good fun watchin ’em blow shit up, it was a deep movie given all the religious connotations, it was a great sequel given the motif’s, and for those that like to read between the lines, it was a very profound movie. But if you havn’t seen the first one; don’t bother – none of it will make sense, and they make no attempt to explain jack all if you havn’t seen the first one.

So see the first one first.

At work at the moment. Had a nice call from bec at 5:45am this morning… and I mean, it really was a nice call, and I appreciated it (The MAtrix only finished at 10:45pm and Bec was alseep by the time I got home to call her at 11pm)… bit tired as a result though, but it was sooooooo worth it!!!!!!

Im stressed.
I havn’t eaten since 8am this morning.
I’ve been working my arse off.
Toney got back to me on my commission thing.
His answer sucked.
He wants to pay me $5 for every 17″ LCD, $5 for Windows XP Pro, $20 for a Twinhead Notebook.
I want a payrise. Or better commissions.
But that’s better than nothing for the moment.
I miss Bec.
I’m going to see The Matrix tomorrow.
That’ll do, I want to go to sleep.

Public Phones

Filed under: General - Mark @ 4:02 pm

Went shopping to buy my Bubby a birthday present. There was nothing at all that appealed. But I did go see a movie.

Now don’t worry, I’m not going to ruin the movie, but I went to see Phone Booth. Not really knowing what I was in for, I was very pleasntly surprised… and scared shitless at the same time. It doesn’t make you think (well, not really), but they call it a “suspensful movie” – suspensful would be a great understatement. I saw it all alone in a big dark cinema with a biiiiiig screen (literally all alone – noone was there) and it had me on the edge of my seat – which means it’s gotta be good… ANd if you ever see a public phone ringing… don’t answer it. Ever.

And…. I love my bubs heaps and heaps and heaps and heaps and… happy birthday for next week bubby!!

Bec and I had a pointless conversation last night. She wants me to try for the Navy again. I explained to her what it would mean if I got accepted; and she hated it so much that she started crying; so I told her that there was no way in hell I was going back there, and she’s still like “You should go you should go” whilst trying not to cry… I’m not going back. I don’t even WANT to go back. Wouldn’t make any difference if I knew Bec existed or not, I wouldn’t and am not going to go back.

Hmmmmz… the pici section of the webstite is finished, albeit not online yet cos Im at work atm… Hmmz and Peter Mercer is on the phone wanting to know what’s happened with his hard drive; but we forgot to send it away, so it’ll be a while yet unfortunatly and he aint gunna be happy…

Ooh nice escape there by myself, just put him on old for 5 mins and then tell him that I wasn’t able to get in contact with the offending party (i.e. us), so yeah that’s bought me a day or two of time yet… Yay. Gee I’m an arsehole.

Photo’s will be back online tomorrow; and I’ve seen a kickarse website that I might try to copy (Im a cheapskate, I know, but hell I love this new site that I saw); so don’t be surprised if this website runs away very quickly 😉

Anyhow back to work!

Wear Sunscreen…

Filed under: General - Mark @ 5:27 am

Six years ago there was a song. There was also a movie. The movie was Romeo and Juliete by Baz Luhrman. The song was the Sunscren Song. Romeo and Juliete is possibly one of the best movies ever made (a modern adaption of an old movie). In the song, there are a few lines that go something like:

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Never mind. You will not understand the power and beaty of your youth until they’ve faded. Trust me, in 20 years, you’ll look back at photo’s of your self, and crawling away you can’t grasp now; how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.

Whatever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much; or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody elses.

Enjoy your body – use it every way you can. It is the greatest instrument you will ever own…

Do not read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Understand that friends come and go – but with the precious few you shold hold on.

Live in New York city once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in norther California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you’ll have a trust fund; maybe you’ll have a weathy spouse – but you never know when either one will run out

Be careful who’s advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a type of nostaligia. Dispensing it is a way of wishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and dispensing it for more than it’s worth

As a salesman, the last one is my favourite; however the first one is the most meaningul. No matter what you think you look like, or what everyone tells you, to someone, you are the most beautiful person on the face of the planet. Some people don’t realise exactly how incredibly beautiful they are. All the sports models in the world, all the playboy bunnies, all the Ralph centerfolds – they kinda think they might be good looking, and exploit that. But the true sexyness and beauty of other people lies very personally; something that a lot of people never get to see.

When I see Bec, I see the most beautiful person I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I see a perfect face, a wonderful body; a fantastic smile, silky hair… why? Because she’s perfect.

I was watching ’24’ on Tuesday night (Yes, I know, I taped it – and I’m not changing the topic, just keep reading) and there was a scene where Jack Bauer volunteered to fly a neuclear bomb out into the desert, crash it into a ditch and let the bomb explode… i.e. Same as in Armageddon – he was going to sacrifice himself for the nation; and he had the president on the phone telling the world what a wonderful person Jack is, and then Jack had to phone is daughter and tell him and… well in the end he didn’t end up dying (of course); but I felt genuinly sad. Which is something that never used to happen to me. In the past, I would have laughed and said “Hehe, you’re gunna die… was that your plan??” but I didn’t. And the only conclusion I can come up runs somewhat paralell to Fight Club. Now that I’ve fallen in love, I can feel my senses again. I used to just be happy, like, all the time. Now I’m happy most of the time, exctatic when I’m with Bec, and I get pangs of sadness and sometimes I even feel depressed. Meeting and knowing Bec has ‘unlocked’ myself, my senses, and finally made me complete…

Bubby, as I was saying before, no one is perfect.

Until you fall in love with them.

And you’re perfect.
